The Village Hall

The Village Hall, dating from 1910, has a stage and a kitchen with parking behind and opposite. It is available for hire and parishioners are given special rates.

Refurbishment

A group led by the Village Hall Committee Chairman, John Scott, is working up ideas for refurbishment of the hall. The main objectives are to ensure that the hall is both weather and draught proof, and that the interior should be warm, welcoming and cosy. Click here to find out more.

Village Hall Committee

The committee is made up of representatives of the organisations in the village who may use the Hall, and can co-opt other members. It is responsible for the day to day running of the hall, including cleaning and bookings, which should be made through the bookings secretary. It also ensures that the hall is decorated and kept in good order, and that facilities meet current standards.

Booking the Hall

To book the hall please contact Gloria Goodliffe, tel 720425.

The Community Association licensed the hall for entertainment and the sale of alcohol. Obviously there are terms and conditions to ensure that events do not cause disturbance. If you are planning an event which needs the license please speak with Gloria when you talk to her about booking the hall.

Getting to the hall

You can find Longparish Village Hall using:

How big is the hall

The body of the main hall is about 46' by 22' 6" but you need to knock about 18" off the width for the heaters.

The arch of the stage is 12' 11" wide and 8' 6" high. The stage is 12' deep behind the curtain and extends 15" in front of the curtain. It is a bit wider than the arch but not a lot. You can extend it in front by using six stage blocks which are 3' by 3' each.

You can see the stage in action in this picture of the Longparish Players production, The Continental Quilt. There's more room than shows becuase they have built a set on the stage but you get the idea.
