The May meeting was the first meeting of the new Parish Council. We welcomed new members, Jane Rowland, Peter Jones and Robert Streatfeild and co-opted Chris Dewbury to fill the last remaining place.

At its May meeting the Council:
congratulated Jim Neal on his re-election as Borough Councillor. We are very lucky that Jim attends most parish council meetings
decided to meet on the second Monday of each month apart from August.
raised no objection to plans for poultry houses at Patchington Farm (this was a renewal of an application previously approved by the TVBC), and extensions at 114 and 60 North Acre
noted the draft accounts for the year to 31 March 03 and adopted recommendations from an informal finance meeting
discussed litter and behaviour at the skate ramp. This will be looked at in more detail at the next Open Spaces meeting.
arranged a fire safety talk for 28 May
Decided to invite a Highways official to the next meeting to discuss road signs and road safety
Decided to print enough copies of the new Village Design statement for every household to have one.

The next meeting is at 7.30pm on Monday 9 June in the Village Hall committee room. All parishioners are welcome to come and can speak. The agenda will be on the notice boards at the shop and in Forton a few days before the meeting.
