Prefects and House System
As Year 11 turned their attentions to exams so we had to decide who would step up to takeover their positions of responsibility. Over 40 pupils have been named as prefects and from them Victoria Ferguson has been appointed as our new Head Girl and Tom Hodgson as Head Boy. We were fortunate in receiving applications for these posts from a very strong field of candidates who wrote letters of application and attended an interview where they had to make a presentation. We were very impressed indeed and congratulate all who put themselves forward. It is very encouraging to see young people willing and very able to take on responsibilities and help lead and represent the school.
Our new House system is now also ready for launching. A considerable number of pupils were bold enough to put themselves forward as House Captains. Year 10 pupils and all staff were allowed to vote and as result the pupils below have been elected. Sports Captains have been appointed by James Lovegrove, Head of PE. House names were decided on by whole school ballot, choosing from a range of categories local rivers, planets, famous people, famous Hampshire people and figures from the Arts. Trees won by more than two to one, a suitable outcome for a rural school. I think each house will have to plant their own tree! Here are the results.

We hope this will prove a positive new venture, stimulating team-work and competition as well providing lots of opportunities for pupils to have fun and show what they can do well. The forthcoming Sports Day will be the first opportunity to see the new system in practice.
Staff and pupils continue to be involved in a wide range of additional activities including visits to Salisbury Cathedral, the Holocaust Exhibition, Paris, the Rhineland, Calshot, Cheriton Civil War site, Fort Nelson, District Athletics & Rounders championships, the Watermill Theatre, Shakespeare's Globe, a science event for able scientists and Fareham Court for the regional Magistrates Court finals. (We do make sure they find time for normal lessons too!)

Three year party
Sunday 18th July at 5.o'clock
Yes. It's been three glorious years at The Cricks for us and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who have supported us so well over the years and the Longparish Cricket Club (who are doing very well now). It really does not seem like three years but they say time flies when you're having fun. We are very lucky to live in such a place.
As you know, the Cricketers has been reopened for one year at the end of July. It has been an amazing year for us, exceeding all our expectations. We would also like to thank our neighbours for putting up with us during the alterations and after, especially the party nights!
Well, we are having another one on Sunday 18th July at 5.o'clock. We have live music with Stuart Walker, hog roast and salad, most of all a free glass of sangria and various other entertainment. All proceeds will go to Longparish School and Longparish boule pitch. We would love to see you there. So come and have some fun.
Once again thanks to all who have made the last three years such a pleasure
