Longparish Parish Council

This report covers the October meeting.

Minutes of meetings are on the village website.

Rubbish

The Council has invited the Environmental Health Department at TVBC to provide a speaker for the next meeting to explain the proposed changes to bin collection arrangements and answer questions.   We will have an Open Forum at the start of the meeting so parishioners can raise any matters of concern on this subject.

Planning

The council objected to extension of the operating hours at the Harewood waste transfer station.

A viewing committee will look at the proposals for Southside Farmhouse.

There were no objections to

•  Alterations to barn at Foxdale House
•  Tree works at 5 The Withies

Finance

The accounts for the year to 31 March 2005 have been audited.   You can see them on the village website.

Open Spaces

•  The Clerk will chase TVBC to replace the various missing green public wheelie bins.
•  Mr Bourne will arrange for the number of rabbits on the football field and in the cemetery to be reduced by ferreting
•  The next Village Clean Up Day will be on Saturday 19 November (see separate article)

Village Plan

The group has followed up ideas for a youth club by arranging a day of activities for young people on 26 November (see separate article). On the same day a small group will visit Liss to see how their Community Association works. And a grant of £438 from TVBC means that we now have enough funds to press ahead with publication.   Watch this space …

The next Council meeting is at 7.30 on Monday 14 November in the Village Hall.   Meetings are public and all parishioners are welcome to come and can speak.
