Race Report

The day started wet and drizzly – great for the runners, but not so appealing to spectators and marshals. In the end, the rain held off and the race was run in the dry, with just a light breeze to battle going up Nun’s Walk.

We were pleased to welcome two new runners from out of the village, Becky and Andy. Also noteworthy was the presence of all the junior members of the Evans family running as Accompanied Minors. They all put in very good times, especially Ben who was the first runner over the line.

Jack awarding Jacqui and John the Most Improved Runners cups

Congratulations to our two Most Improved Runners, Jacqui and John, both of whom worked really hard and made great improvements on their previous runs.

Thanks to Jeremy for organising, starting and timekeeping; to Fiona as assistant timekeeper; to Maggie for the yummy flapjack and post-race tea and coffee; to Jack, the Chief Marshal, for collecting the finish list and presenting the trophies to the Most Improved Runners; to the Goulds for putting the signs out and to the Cricket Club for the wonderful venue.
