Saturday 7th April saw volunteers of all ages from the village working hard to give it a spring clean. The village hall is now spick and span, the weed cleaned from the stream and that whole area tidied up. In the car park and cemetery, many overgrown trees were taken down or pruned, which created plenty of work for a big shredder and resulted in quite a lot of compostable material, not to mention potential firewood!
The volunteers were grateful for good weather for most of the day - although those that survived to the bitter end got very wet and comically muddy.
To those who came and helped - many thanks. To those disappointed by their inability to come this time - watch this space. We found a few more things that need doing, so we may be having another go in a few weeks time!
