Here's where you'll find stuff that was once current!
Blonde, mother of four from Longparish, Alice Evans won the ladies' title at the Bramley 20 mile race on Sunday 20th February. Alice ran her first London marathon in 2004 and did so well that she gained an automatic place for London this year as an 'elite' runner. On Sunday's form, we can obviously expect even better things from her this April, when she will be one of a number of runners from Longparish doing the London Marathon - including her husband, Jonathan, and Jeremy Barber, Chairman of the Parish Council. On the same day, David Gould will be running the Tresco Marathon, in aid of the Cystic Fibrisis Trust.
On a lighter note, David, Longparish's very own personal fitness trainer and member of Andover Triathlon Club, was mentioned in the Andover Advertiser on the 18th February in their report on the recent Romsey 5 mile race.
"Many of the Triathlon Club had elected to cycle to the race, and home afterwards, in order to add some extra spice to the event. Even this was not hot enough for David Gould who ran the race in a creditable time of 31:19 and then immediately set off and ran 22 miles back to his home in Longparish. Still not satisfied, Dave joined the Triathlon Club's swim training later the same day!"
