The Parish Council continues to work towards completion.

As last reported, we hoped to make sufficient progress before Christmas for the Parish Council to make a final decision on the acquisition of The Plough, and the grant of a long lease to Longparish Community Pub Limited to run the community pub and hub. But the necessary research and negotiations took longer than expected and of course the festive holidays and pandemic did not help!

We are delighted to report that we are now very close to completing the normal pre-purchase enquiries and agreeing all the necessary documents. If all goes to plan, the Plough Committee expects to report to the Parish Council at their meeting on Thursday 21 January, with recommendations as to whether the deal should go ahead.

Our hope is that after months of planning this community project may soon come to fruition, providing a flourishing village asset for many years to come. Please come along to the Parish Council meeting at 7.30pm on Thursday if you would like to hear more - we will of course provide an update as soon as possible after that.

We hope this will be the start of a Happy New Year for Longparish.
