Promote awareness and encourage responsible enjoyment of our footpath network and open spaces.
To facilitate and encourage individuals to become involved in the protection and maintenance of the village environment
To establish an “adopt a footpath” scheme modelled on our successful “adopt a rod” scheme where volunteers agree to keep a stretch of path free from obstructions and litter

David Wright (Parish Plan lead) become a member of the Open Spaces Committee and attended a meeting of the Footpaths Committee. Both committees are now aware of the recommendations of the Parish Plan New footpath maps have been distributed as part of the Parish Plan document Copies of “The Countryside Code” have been distributed with each copy of the Parish Plan Open Spaces Committee and Footpaths Committee already receive some support from individuals in protecting and maintaining the village environment, but more volunteers would be appreciated

Through the proposed Community Association and Youth Group, and by supporting existing groups such as the Cricket Club, to:
Encourage greater integration of different age groups using the sporting and recreational facilities within the village Respond to potential demand for other activities that would enhance the use of the facilities |
First steps to set up Youth Group and Community Association have already begun |
