We will publicise the next round of consultation via Hill and Valley, shop, notice boards and invites.
Leaders of next round of discussions are to finalise and cross-reference invitation list. Meeting fixed for Sunday evening (7 th Dec) at Cricketers to sort out invite format.
No money spent to date.
School contact initiated. Tasks given out to children aged 5 to 101/2 and feedback received. The group wanted to go back to the school to hone some of the points raised but at the moment the school was too busy to allow this.
Action Christine letter of thanks for all participants.
There had been a discussion with mothers from the Mother and Toddler group. They were invited to comment on their perception of the village on behalf of their children not as adults. Several problems were identified, as too were advantages of living in Longparish. Data to be collated at a later date. Thanks to Fiona and Cheryl for help with the consultation.
On the 3 rd Dec the group had a meeting with Dodie Marsden (St Mary Bourne youth worker) Paula Vize, Nona Harrison, Christine Beresford, Corinne Bowman and Lisa from the RATS team in Winchester. A draft poster for the youth event on Saturday 24 th Jan was worked on. There was also a discussion about booking the RATS team for a group of younger children in the spring. It is possible to join the Youth Options team for £35 a year. This would enable us to run various events run by the RATS at reduced rates.
Action Jeremy - it was proposed to ask the Parish Council to do this at its next meeting.
A list of potential invitees exists but needs further review. To be added to list is: venue, dates, times and type of refreshments.
Action Meeting at Cricketers on Sunday 7 th Dec at 7.00 pm
David Wright had some concern over the Leisure and sport group.
Action David and Fiona will work with the 2 groups separate.
Fiona had been in contact with Steve at the Cricketers about holding meetings in the pub. No worries with the young adults group. Some concern over tea and cakes for older members of the village- no problem over serving coffee. Would prefer to keep numbers to less than twenty.
General discussion about invitations. Meetings are to be open to everyone who wants to come but it was decided that people would be invited personally with a note and an invitation.
Action Format to be sorted on Sunday.
Action Fiona and small group to sort out insert for Hill and Valley for deadline on 10 th Dec.

Handling Data .
Each group to sort its own data. Needs to be in a similar format. It was decided that three or four people from each group would filter the data and produce key themes that may help with formulating questions for the questionnaire.
Fiona had some thoughts about formulating questions and handling the data. Perhaps an “away day” would enable us as a group to focus on the task, which will clearly take longer than we can manage at our monthly meetings.
Action Jim Neal to explore the possibility of using a conference room at Beech Hurst.
“Movers and shakers” group. It was decided to treat them in a similar way to the other groups and seek data from them rather than just seek answers or solutions to problems.
A small group of volunteers to find out what other villages have done with regard to their questionnaire and bring back proposals to the whole group on the possible mechanics of distribution and return.
Action Paula and Cheryl and another to explore this area.
Landowners Group
Jeremy and Mary Jo sought the advice of Martin Lowry (Dreweatt Neate - Land management director). It was decided not to invite all the landowners to one meeting, but rather to seek their views individually on how they would like Longparish to develop.. There would be a confidential gathering of information with an offer of feedback. Fourteen land owners have been identified and each person or their agent will be approached individually. A two-hour slot would be set aside for each consultation.
Everyone was asked about their workload with regard to the Parish Plan. Nobody said they were too snowed under at present, but it was stressed that if that does become the case they must speak up or ask for more help.
Public meeting on Dec 1 st well attended. The target of people registering has been reached. BT are to up grade the local exchange. The date is being eagerly awaited-probably be in the 1 st quarter of 2004.
A meeting has taken place with Greg. He is able to put us in touch with grant bodies, speakers for groups and leaflets offering support to social groups. Fiona has the leaflets.
Alix Bremridge and David Wright will have confidential discussions with those involved to see if they can offer us some guidance that could help with our planning.
Cheryl reported that she had met some people from the community fund at another event. She has produced a sheet; everyone at the meeting had a copy. The sheet details grants and methods of application that may be applicable to our village. There is a free seminar about the grant process coming up on 15 th January in Portsmouth.
The next task of the fund's trustees is to advertise to groups and individuals what the fund is all about and invite applications.
Fiona attended the Barton Stacey Parish Plan inaugural meeting.
Mary Jo has been contacted about addressing Kings Somborne Parish Plan meeting.
Action Fiona to pass notes she prepared for the Barton Stacey meeting to Mary Jo.
Date of next meeting Thursday 5 th Feb 2004 at 8.00pm. Paula Vize has offered to accommodate us at Walnut Tree House, but this will be confirmed nearer the time.
