We agreed that we would need a ‘properly constituted’ committee for legitimacy in grant application etc. After sterling attempts from all attendees to move backwards as rapidly as possible, and a proposal to give a multi-officer role to Gloria in her absence (which was vetoed by Fiona to her later chagrin!) we agreed the following:
Chairman : Fiona
Treasurer : Jeremy (to use the PC processes for transparency and its VAT status to save money)
The other suggested officers included Vice Chairman, Secretary, Publicity Officer and Co-ordinator for Volunteers. We agreed that a VC was unnecessary; the secretarial role (minute taker) would rotate among members, and other roles would be filled as needed in the future.
Our basic intention, however optimistic, is to try and meet on the first Thursday of every month.
Communications
We agreed that, after the long (though entirely understandable) gap since our exhibition in December, we should attempt to update the village on what was going on. We intend to produce an article for H&V (July, deadline 22 nd June) to include:
I will also talk to David about having a village plan section on the website. We can put all our meeting notes up there, and I’d also suggest we put up the results of the exhibition – we can have the basic data as well as Christine’s summary, so people can reassure themselves that we haven’t lost any of their suggestions.

Next meeting
Thursday 3 rd July 2003, at The Croft, Longparish. All volunteers welcome.
Intention is to scope out the action plan in more detail using the process overview we publish in H&V. I expect this will mean concentrating on grant applications and furthering the consultation phase, especially how we can involve those parts of our community who were under-represented at the December meeting.
