The Village Handbook explains that Longparish had some distinctive customs. The Christmas Mummers play which is preserved in the Church used to be performed in the big houses, and the mummers were given food and ale. Here's a copy of the play. There used to be a photo of the mummers in the church. We'll try and track it down. Does anyone fancy reviving the show for Christmas?
