2007 Contest Saturday 6 October in Longparish Village Hall

Thanks very much to everyone who supported this year's show, to the Evans family for the refreshments, to Andy and Gill for the admin and to Gloria and Nigel for judging.

The playgroup's two decorated pumpkins and Jeremy's 92lb squash went on to the JST pumpkin show at Netley where there were some incredibly big pumpkins. Jeremy was interviewed by Zoe Salmon of Blue Peter for the 31 October show. You can see pictures here (opens new window), though the interview was not broadcast. The playgroup's pumpkins both won Certificates of Merit.

The biggest pumpkins were hollowed out and made into boats for a race from Lymington to the Isle of Wight. You can see a report here and read Zoe's blog here.

Heaviest Age 7 and under: Ben 3oz, playgroup 3.5oz, Daniel 10lbs (3rd), Ollie 16lbs (2nd), Tilly 38lbs (1st)

Heaviest Age 8-11: Cosmo 33lbs (2nd), Ben 72lbs (1st)

Heaviest Age 16 and over: Amanda (4.5oz (2nd), Jeremy 92lbs (1st)
